Designed for independent learners

Not everyone can commit to a fixed weekly schedule, and this course was built with that in mind. All sessions, audio guides, and written materials are available immediately upon enrolment, and there is no expiry on access. Participants work through the content at whatever pace suits their circumstances, whether that means two weeks or two months.

What the course covers

The course is organised into five modules, moving from foundational breath awareness through to more nuanced practices for working with anxious thought patterns and physical tension. Each module includes a short explanatory video, one or two guided audio practices, and a written exercise. The audio practices range from eight to 22 minutes, offering options for different time constraints.

The limits of self-paced learning

Self-paced formats work well for people who are self-motivated and comfortable with independent reflection. Without the structure of live sessions or peer interaction, some participants find it harder to maintain consistency. The course includes a simple weekly check-in template to help with this, but it requires the participant to use it. Those who prefer accountability may find a live cohort program more effective.

Suitability and access

The course is suitable for adults at any stage of familiarity with meditation. No prior experience is required. All audio content includes written transcripts, and the video sessions are captioned. Materials are accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

What the course covers

Course Modules

Module 1: Breath as an Anchor
Foundational breath awareness techniques. Understanding the role of the breath in regulating the nervous system. Includes two guided practices of 8 and 14 minutes.
Module 2: Recognising Tension
Body-scan practice and introduction to progressive muscle relaxation. Written exercise for mapping personal tension patterns.
Module 3: Working with Anxious Thoughts
Mindfulness-based approaches to observing thought patterns without amplifying them. Includes a 22-minute guided session and a structured journaling exercise.
Module 4: Building a Daily Habit
Practical strategies for embedding short practices into an existing daily routine. Includes a habit-tracking template and a short video on common obstacles.
Module 5: Consolidation and Review
Review of all techniques covered. Guidance on adapting practices over time and recognising when professional support may be appropriate.
Total guided audio content: approximately 90 minutes across all modules.

Each stage builds on the previous one. The sequence is intentional - early sessions focus on awareness before introducing active techniques.

Participants work at their own pace within the scheduled duration, with structured checkpoints rather than rigid deadlines.
